Dr. Nick Leeper is a Professor, Chief of Vascular Medicine, and Director of Vascular Research at Stanford University. A board-certified cardiologist, Dr. Leeper specializes in the care of patients with atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases. He is actively engaged with the Society for Vascular Medicine (SVM), the Gordon Research Conferences (GRC), and the American Society for Clinical Investigation (ASCI) and has held multiple volunteer roles at the American Heart Association (AHA). Dr. Leeper leads a translationally oriented laboratory focused on leveraging human genetics and advanced immunology approaches to discover new cardiovascular therapeutics. He previously cofounded the immuno-oncology company, Forty Seven, Inc. (acquired by Gilead in 2020).

Dr. Leeper earned a BA in chemistry and an MD from the University of Chicago. He completed his internal medicine training at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), before pursuing fellowships in cardiovascular disease and vascular medicine at Stanford University.
