Julie (Ju Yun) Son is Director and Corporate Counsel at Bitterroot Bio. Grounded in both science and law, she brings technical fluency to complex life sciences transactions — advising on strategic licensing and collaborations, clinical and regulatory matters, and intellectual property strategy.

Prior to joining Bitterroot Bio, Julie was an associate at Fenwick & West LLP, where she advised biotechnology and digital health companies on licensing, collaboration, and commercialization transactions, as well as intellectual property diligence. She previously practiced at Venable LLP, where she represented biotechnology and pharmaceutical clients in Hatch-Waxman litigation, PTAB proceedings, and other complex intellectual property disputes. Before transitioning to law, Julie worked as a patent engineer and medicinal chemistry researcher focused on antitumor therapeutics in Seoul, South Korea.

Julie holds a BS in Life Science and Biotechnology from Yonsei University and received her JD from The George Washington University Law School. She is admitted in New York and is a Registered In-House Counsel in California.
