Board Director

Mario Pennisi AM is a respected and experienced director, advocate and strategic advisor in the life sciences arena. He has held executive leadership roles including at Mayne Health, LSQ and now as Managing Director of Biostate Pty Ltd.

He has served for several years as an Adjunct Associate Professor for the Centre for Clinical Research at UQ and as Chair of the Griffith University Clinical Trials Unit.

As a Consultant and Resident Director with Acclime Australia he serves as a Director for Bitterroot Bio Australia Pty Ltd. He is a Director of the Qld Eye Institute Foundation, BrizBrain & Spine Pty Ltd, Electrogenics Laboratories Ltd, Stetson Family Office and a member of the FaBA Advisory Board.

Recognized by BIO in 2019, as the first Australian to receive their Leadership and Legacy Award, Mario is able to leverage his global network, to bring a wealth of medical, scientific, commercial and strategic expertise to these roles.

In 2020 he was made a Member, Order of Australia for significant service to the biomedical sector, to commercialization initiatives, and to research.
